Image: Honestly I lose track of what I named everyone of these. I should just call them, view 1, view 2, etc. But each one always inspires a name at the moment I carve them. Since I work in a series, often while I'm carving one, another one comes to mind and they tend to be naturally similar. Yet each one has a reason it came to mind; did I stop there to admire the view? or to catch my breath (more likely!)?
These are many smaller woodcuts that I use as "sketches" to hone skill in capturing the woodcut essence in the desert around me. I usually take a bunch of little blocks in my backpack the way other artists take a sketchbook. A magic marker is my weapon of choice as it allows me to sketch quickly and capture the quirky shapes of desert flora and the awesome darks and lights of desert landscapes.
Suitable for smaller frames, these make great gifts framed or unframed.

The Hand-Made Difference:
-Photos of the print are taken from a representative of the edition, usually an artist's proof. Since all my woodcuts are hand printed, there may be a very slight variation across the edition.
-Hand-made paper also varies from sheet to sheet, therefore when a print is printed on hand-made paper each sheet of paper will be slightly different.
Both these factors contribute to making each of my original woodcuts unique works of art.
All my prints are shipped well protected and flat; larger prints are shipped rolled in tubes.
